Fruit and Vegetable

Most Fruit and vegetable classes are the same each year but check this years schedule for the actual classes.

If you find you want to be more rigorous with your presentation then there are some tips in the Tips for showing Vegetables Blog post.

Potato Growing Competition

Every year in February villagers agree to enter the potato growing competition and receive 3 seed tubors for a small fee to chit and plant in a portable container. On the morning of the show entrants bring their tubs for extraction of the potatoes for weighing by authorised personnel. Entrants take their entries away at the end of the show.

Flowers and Flower arranging

Most Flower classes remain the same each year but the flower arranging classes do change, see this years schedule for the class specifics, note the size of arrangements also changes.

Photographic Competition

New classes are identified every year to see if we can excite and or challenge you. See this years schedule for the subject classes. Check for size constraints in the Rules for Exhibitors document.

Art and Hobby craft

New classes are defined every year, see the schedule for this years classes.

Tallest Sunflower

Grow a sunflower from seed of your own choice or check in with the show committee to see if a spare seed or seedling is available. Even if you don’t end up with the tallest plant you will have something that the bees love! The tallest sunflower can be grown in your garden, we will use social media to reach out to all participants in the two weeks prior to the show to see whose sunflower is reaching dizzying heights. Members of the show committee will be round to measure the plants from ground level to the top of the plant.
